Anti Ageing Peels

At YourSkin Clinic we use Advanced Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Lactic Acid peels. These peels correct the skins dryness, suppleness by signalling cells to make Hyalaronic acid (HA), our skin cells natural moisture substance. A unique combination of Lactic acid and essential skin antioxidant vitamins helps normalise skin exfoliation and renewal rate to return the skin to a more youthful healthy appearance. These peels should only be used by a recommended skincare professional. AHA's are soluble organic acids that are found naturally in various fruits and foods.

Therefore the 2 purposes of AHA's are moisturising and skin exfoliator. As we age the process of skin shedding slows down making our skin look dull, sallow, coarse and creating fine lines. AHA's exfoliates the skin as it has the unique ability to dissolve the cellular cement.

AHA's can be used on all skin types. AHA's do not thin the skin as some people may think they do. In fact skin epidermis/dermal thickness is increased due to the HA stimulation into the skin. An increase in HA leads to a dramatic increase in the moisture retention properties of the skin, giving the skin a plumper look.

AHA's can cause sun sensitivity and should always be used with a SPF 15 plus. Additionally wearing a wide brim hat should be used.

There may be some mild stinging or irritation when first applied however this sensation should disappear within several minutes and usually subsides after several uses.

Within a few weeks of using these peels your skin should begin to look and feel smoother, younger and healthier. Should start to see visible results after 2-6 weeks depending on the condition of the skin prior to using Priori Advanced AHA's peels. Lactic acid peels can be done weekly for faster results.
